So after a few years of my crafting languishing in the background I have gone back to it with a vengeance! Why did it languish? Part money, part time, part mostly lame excuses, really. I always thought about crafting it just never seemed to happen. Well, I can’t say that I did nothing. I did knit a bit which is now also in a holding pattern BUT I do have projects in the works. A set of bedroom pillows for myself and several more sets that I plan to sell on Etsy. I want to do a mix of knitting and material. That seems to be what I like – mixing materials. I like texture and layering.
Even on my ‘day job’ blog and site I layered textures and shapes so it wouldn’t feel so flat. I love my day job – web design – but crafting satisfies that tactile element that I just love and crave.
The incident that made me move forward can be read about on my other blog and, although illness may seem a cliched reason to find that juice that was missing in my life, I’m really just glad to have had an incident that gave me the drive and motivation I have always wondered if they would ever show up. I could never seem to stay on a sustained drive to get things done and if illness is what it took, then, I’ll take it!
