Adventures in Photography

September 30, 2010 by rhennen

I am working on a website for an industrial plumbing company and they would like a project portfolio on their website. Sounds good. I get to use my Web skills and my Photography skills. And then you drive to the first building location in Brooklyn and the roads are still cobblestone. And uneven. I mean REALLY uneven. One of the streets had a pothole or a sinkhole as big as my tire and I drive a truck. Yikes! And the whole time you are just bobbing side to side side to side side to side. It’s like heaven when you get back on what you thought was bumpy asphalt but really, is quite wonderful!

And then, the other building, in another part of Brooklyn. As you walk up to it with your camera you are quick to avert your eyes from the man who just pulled up his pants from taking a quick pee on a fire hydrant.

All in a day’s work I guess!

Last week I tried out @nadya_draws_in_seattle gel Last week I tried out @nadya_draws_in_seattle gel printing with plants. The first attempt, I got distracted by another project and the paint dried before I put the paper on top to peel. 🤦🏻‍♀️ I reset it and was able to peel it off but not as nicely. It's the one in the right in pic 5 that's cracked.

Also, I had a regular paint brush and not the roller - I have one now for next time.

The second time was better but clearly needs practice! Loved my colors and how the ferns look! ☺️
On the studio table today: pew cones or petal cone On the studio table today: pew cones or petal cones are the way they are most commonly described.

I first made some for a friend's wedding. In the 3rd photo you can see the side didn't line up nicely but after a few attempts I figured out to cut off two corners to keep the most width at the top.

The first version is fine for me which is now hanging on my staircase for Halloween! 👻 ⚰️🕷️ 🎃

I went camping 🏕️ in Vermont a couple weeks a I went camping 🏕️ in Vermont a couple weeks ago. It's not easy to sleep in when you're in a tent ⛺ 😂 so I was able to stumble across these lovely little wild beauties on the shore of the lake, still covered in dew.

Dahlias and roses and peonies are stunning but I dunno, wildflowers always steal my heart 💓🌸
