100 Day Project Update
I feel like I have been working on this flower forever. I don’t suppose 46 days (give or take a few) qualifies as forever but sometimes it sure feels like it!
This image has given me trouble from the beginning. It was challenge enough to take on a new drawing skill but then the image that is used for this module was particularly challenging for my rusty drawing skills!
- Improving Lines
- Rushed, unevenly spaced
- Overview of Progress
After I transferred the sketch to the good paper for the final image and started inking, I was unhappy to realize that I would need to make a number of edits to the drawing. I am not entirely sure where the distortion came from though I’m thinking it was during the transfer process. I did rush a little bit.
While I was unhappy about it, I noticed that my drawing ability was getting better, which was part of the point. And also, just this week, my ink lines got smoother and more evenly spaced. This particular improvement had to be the result of really slowing myself down. I still have a ways to go!
Thank Goodness for Free Events!
On Wednesday, I went to a free classical mini classical music concert at Grace Episcopal Church in White Plains. When I see free art or music like this I am doing my best to take advantage of it!
These little mini concerts are held on Wednesdays at noon through the non-profit Downtown Music at Grace. The musicians are mostly up and coming and these concerts give them a chance to play and a chance to be seen.
For me, it is also a celebration of my Dad. He passed away a few years ago. He loved classical music and going to the symphony. This is a way to do something we both love and to keep his memory alive in a joyous way.

This week was a special edition, a more well-known group playing Bach, called REBEL, with a violin and a harpsichord (harpsichords travel?!). It was a lovely break in the week, to hear some live music, in a peaceful setting. Here is one of songs they played.
